Description
The maillon was initially used by the sport, caving people as a front connection to their sit harness. It allowed the joining of the two webbing loops and also allowed multiple connections of other maillons or karabiners.
It is widely used by the rope access personnel for the same reason it was used in sport, as a front connection point for multiple connections.
