Domestic Gas Detection System

Domestic Gas Detection System

Typically domestic gas detection is limited to two main areas, Flammable gas detection for Natural gas (methane) or LPG (Liquefied Petroleum Gas) and Carbon Monoxide gas detector.

Flammable Gas hazard

Flammable gas detection protects your family and home from explosion hazards. These can arise from leaking pipework, poor installations and appliance defects. Importantly flammable gas detector will also detect releases of gas where hobs and similar burners have been switched on but not lit. A 3KW hob burner if left on but not lit can quickly liberate enough flammable gas to be an explosive hazard.

SGS’s Solution For Stand Alone Gas Detectors:

Products like our TOC-10 series of domestic flammable gas detectors are designed to provide an effective alarm for flammable gas detection. TOC-10 can be implemented as a simple stand-alone alarm or its in built control capability can be linked to gas valves, alarm systems or monitoring stations.

Similarly there are many domestic applications for shared occupancy, landlords, care in the community, student accommodation etc where a stand-alone detector is inappropriate. In these cases where stand-alone or battery powered monitors are inappropriate a permanently powered solution is required.

SGS’s Solution For Gas Detection System:

For such requirements our manufacture IGD have small format controllers like TOC-265 MICRO which can be networked for example to Carbon Monoxide and flammable gas detector (methane gas detector or LPG gas detector) where required. Similarly the 625 MICRO allows you to quickly deploy a networked gas detection system with just 1 click.

We also offer a pre-wired version (TOC-625-MCP) system using plug and socketed cables. This version allows for installation by people with no gas detection experience. Cables are available in 1M, 3M and 10M lengths which can be interconnected to make specific length cable runs.  Depending on the requirement the controller can be linked to the fire alarm system and offsite monitoring by a number of methods.

Follow SGS’s guide to Siting Gas Detectors to help determine best location.

In extreme cases where clients have been concerned over the rising incidence of thieves using anaesthetic or other gases during robberies our manufacture IGD have fitted more comprehensive solutions.

Whether the requirement is for a single gas detector or a sophisticated network solution, SGS can provide gas detection to suit the application. Contact SGS support with your requirement for a professional solution.
