Overview:

The Xgard range of gas detectors has been specifically designed to meet your requirements. The dangers presented by toxic and flammable gases as well as oxygen deficiency vary with each application. Xsafe is a non-certified low cost catalytic bead type detector with 3-wire 4-20mA or mV bridge output.

Three junction box options – designed to make replacement of sensors and sinters extremely simple. Spare sensors simply plug-in
Many spare parts are common to all Xgard models – keeps spares holding requirements to a minimum

Designed for either wall or ceiling mounting – no need for additional brackets
Can accommodate M20, 1/2″ NPT or 3/4″ NPT cable glands – suits all site requirements
Accessories are available for duct mounting and sampling applications as well as remote gassing – simple sensor checking

Rugged and reliable

Manufactured using a choice of three materials: glass reinforced nylon, highly durable aluminium with a tough polyester coating, or 316 stainless steel for ultimate corrosion resistance – designed to operate even in the harshest environments
Spray deflectors and weatherproof caps are available for use in areas subject to regular wash-downs, or offshore environments
All models have been validated to the functional safety standard IEC 61508 (SIL 1 to SIL 3)

Fixed-point flammable gas detector using a poison resistant pellistor contained within an aluminium enclosure which has one cable gland entry on the right-hand side, with 3-wire mV or 4-20mA output. Operating temperature -40 to +80°C (mV version), -40 to +55°C (mA version).

Below is a small selection of the accessories available for the Xsafe.

Spray defector - C01052 - For outdoor installations and protection from water sprays, for example in water treatment or food processing plants. Includes accessory adaptor. (Not suitable for use with Xgard Type 4)
Sun Shield - C011063 - Protects against excessive heat build-up due to direct sunlight. Supplied with fixing rivets.
Collector Cone - C01051 - For aiding detection of light gases such as methane. 38cm/15″ Dia. Includes accessory adaptor.
Weatherproof cap - C01442 - For offshore or other extremely wet environments. Includes accessory adaptor. (Not suitable for use with Xgard Type 4)
Flow adaptor - C01339 - For use where a gas sample is being piped to the detector.
Calibration adaptor - C03005 - To enable calibration gas to be applied to the detector. One adaptor can be used for several detectors.
Duct mounting kit - S011918 - Allows sampling within tubes and ducts. Stainless steel plate with 6mm remote calibration fitting. Maximum duct airflow: 6 metres per second. (Not compatible with Stainless Steel Xgard or Xgard Type 4.)
